Johanna Klinsky

Director of Teacher Development, ARK Schools

Prior to Ark, Johanna worked in Chicago Public schools where she earned National Board Certification and served as a teacher, mentor teacher, and deputy head teacher.

With the Academy for Urban School Leadership, she helped to develop the first urban teacher residency programme for initial teacher training in the United States.

Johanna helped to found Eric Solorio Academy High School in Chicago where she was in charge of teaching and learning, curriculum and assessment, instructional coaching, and staff development.

With an unrelenting and rigorous focus on high quality teaching, the school became the highest performing neighbourhood high school in the State of Illinois serving high poverty, high minority, urban students.
