John Croxon

Media and Technologies Leader, Lea Forest Primary Academy

After graduating from Newman University with an Initial Teacher Training Quailfication in Information Communication Technologogy in 2006, John taught in several inner city primary schools in Birmingham and Dudley before joining Lea Forest in 2010 as the technology leader.

Over the past decade he has worked with the senior leadership team and the Academies Enterprise Trust to continuously improve their children’s access to technology and ensure that their curriculum is supported by a broad range of virtual and physical learning experiences.

John is also a certified Apple Educator and Google Educator (level 2) and is currently working his way toward his Google Innovator award. In his time at Lea Forest, John has been fortunate to work with Education Specialists at Google, Apple, RM and Lego, and has enjoyed developing working partnerships and sharing ideas that have helped to improve outcomes for the children they serve.

In 2020 John was able to work in partnership with his colleagues across the Academies Enterprise Trust to support in the delivery of an Edtech demo package that has supported over 50 schools so far. They have created a technology innovation hub at Lea Forest that they hope will become a model of good practice and innovation in years to come.
