Dr Miranda Pallan

Reader in Public Health & Epidemiology, University of Birmingham

Miranda is a qualified consultant in Public Health and has conducted research in this discipline over the last 15 years.

Her research has focused on the health of children and adolescents. In particular, she has conducted research to develop and evaluate programmes to increase healthy eating and physical activity in children, thereby preventing and reducing obesity.

Much of her research has been conducted with ethnically diverse communities. Her research interests extend more broadly to wellbeing in childhood, and she is currently conducting research to explore the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions on secondary school-aged children.
