Simon Taylor

Deputy Head Teacher, Lea Forest Primary Academy

Simon is Deputy Headteacher at Lea Forest Primary Academy.

He has had a diverse and varied background not solely based in education. After serving 7 years in the British Army, he was drawn to working with children, helping to equip them for the many challenges they will face in life. He describes it as “A path less trodden”. Difficult? Yes . Worth it? Absolutely.

He is known for his aversion to complexity in favour of a continual drive for simple systems and process that deliver outstanding impact. Valuing the importance of teamwork and collaboration he is clear that without a team there can be no leadership. Providing outstanding educational opportunities for all pupils while developing and leading the best team to deliver outstanding outcomes for all pupils remains his number one priority.
