Deputy Headteacher and Teaching for Mastery Lead (Central Maths Hub)

Claire is a  Deputy Headteacher at Worlds End Junior School.

Claire has a passion for teaching and learning in maths and as a result, have various roles.  Claire is a cohort one NCETM Teaching for Mastery Specialist Teacher, an SLE and Teaching for Mastery Lead for Central Maths Hub. Claire has an MA in Specialist Primary Maths and am an accredited NCETM PD Lead.    In these roles, Claire works on various national programmes for the NCETM: the PD Lead Programme, the Subject Knowledge Enhancement Programme (for teachers and teaching assistants) and the Year 5 to 8 Continuity Programme as well as offering a range of bespoke CPD to schools.  Claire participated in the 2016 DfE England – China Programme, and spent two weeks in Shanghai, each year actively participating in the return leg of the programme.  Having struggled with maths herself at school, Claire understands the importance of high quality maths teaching and strives to ensure that all children are helped to develop a love for learning maths through outstanding maths teaching.
