Paulette Osborne MBE

Assistant Director of Continuous School Improvement, BEP

Paulette is the Assistant Director of Continuous School Improvement, at Birmingham Education Partnership. She is also the Executive Headteacher at  St Mathew’s CofE Teaching School.

Paulette has been working in Birmingham for over 25 years and is really proud to have had a long and outstanding career as an educator, mentor and to have been designated a National Leader of Education.

Paulette is also an accredited Pupil Premium Reviewer, a Leadership Coach/Facilitator, for Ambition Institute, and an accreditor for the RE Quality Mark.

Paulette prefers to describe her leadership style as ‘calm and approachable’. Staff have always told her that her strengths lie in her ability to balance high professional aspirations, with a desire to ensure well being, across the school community.

Paulette’s work to raise school standards and impact the life chances of generations of young people has been recognised, at the highest levels. She was awarded an MBE for her services to education – she took the whole school down to London to meet the Queen!

Paulette was also awarded a Honorary Doctorate (Degree of Letters honoris causa) from Aston University, for her ‘significant contribution to raising attainment amongst young people, in the Aston and Nechells areas and across the city of Birmingham’.

As Assistant Director for school improvement, she will be able to continue to  make a life changing difference, to tomorrow’s citizens.

The ongoing challenges impacting on Headteachers are weighty and as part of BEP she wants to be instrumental to the narrative for success; working in partnership to make Birmingham schools second to none.
